Passing of a legend – Saeed Deihimi (1958 – 2023)

Saeed Deihimi

With deep sorrow and great sadness, we announce the passing of a Persian legend, Maestro Saeed Deihimi, the founder and force behind Beyond Vision Music Foundation (BVMF). After fighting valiantly against cancer for many years, Mr. Deihimi finally succumbed to this devastating disease on Tuesday January 17, 2023.

Mr. Deihimi was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (a degenerative disease that ultimately leads to blindness), at a young age. He started playing piano at age four and was teaching piano by age thirteen! Having music in his life from such an early age, provided Mr. Deihimi with the means of forgetting about his vision impairment and gave him the ability to fill his life with the joy of music. He believed that music brought a new ‘light’ and ‘color’ in the lives of blind and visually impaired.

It is with that belief that Mr. Deihimi began Beyond Vision Music Foundation in 2014 in Los Angeles with the goal of providing free music lessons to those who are blind or visually impaired; so that they can experience the joy and the light he experienced himself. Through his tireless efforts over the years along with his brother Mr. Hamid Deihimi, also blind, and other caring and expert music instructors, BVMF has been able to offer nearly 1300 music lessons per year to 30 students, many in California, but some joining (virtually) from Utah and New York and as far away as Belgium!

With his untimely passing, the torch is passed on to us to carry on his vision and his dream. And in order to do that, we need your support more than ever!

In honor of Mr. Saeed Deihimi and with the goal to continue this foundation in his name, we humbly ask you to consider a generous tax-deductible donation to Beyond Vision Music Foundation. Our goal is to raise $200,000 so that the program can continue in 2023 and 2024 while we work towards his ultimate goal of establishing a permanent music center for blind. Please share this information with friends and join us with your generous support.

We welcome and appreciate your one-time or monthly donations by clicking on the DONATE NOW button below. Also please join our mailing list by clicking on the JOIN NOW button, so we can keep you informed.

Maestro Saeed Deihimi will be greatly missed but his vision and his great name will continue on!
